The David Fleay Wildlife Park offers a great day out just moments from Palm Beach itself. 2. Currumbin Wildife Sanctuary

This magnificent sanctuary looks after some of Australia’s most well-loved species, from wombats an Tasmanian devils to koalas and kangaroos, where you can see them inside 27 hectares of their own natural habitat. Don’t miss the Freeflight Bird Show and Aboriginal Dance Show as well as the chance to get your adrenaline pumping with the TreeTop Challenge.

3. Burleigh Heads
With such a close location to Burleigh Heads from Palm Beach, it’s well worth checking out its picturesque beachfront and the nearby Burleigh Head National Park. Burleigh Beach is a great place to surf, with a number of inviting shops and cafes on the beachside. At Burleigh Head National Park, enjoy several tranquil paths and shaded spots to unwind. You can also head to one of the most lively Gold Coast markets every 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month at the Burleigh Heads Village Markets, where a huge choice of market stalls and live music provide a great way to spend a few hours.

4. Palm Beach Parklands and the Treasure Island Playground
After a few hours at Palm Beach, head to the nearby Palm Beach Parklands, a picturesque open space that’s ideal for a stroll or picnic. Take the kids to Treasure Island Playground that’s located there, where a big pirate ship and playground will keep them entertained for hours.
