We look forward to welcoming you back - we are COVID-19 Safe!

Are you still waiting for somewhere to go this December? Head to Elanora, Gold Coast, with your family or friends and stay at the Isle of Palms Resort to experience an unforgettable holiday. Elanora might seem like a quiet suburb, but that’s part of its charm. If you’d rather stroll in a quiet park or sit in a cafe to people-watch all morning instead of visiting nightclubs, here are some great Elanora activities to satisfy your soul.

Things to Do in Elanora QLD this Holiday Season

Hang out with the family at the Eddie Kornhauser Recreational Reserve.

The Gold Coast is more than its beaches and its vibrant nightlife. It’s also a great place to be if you’re looking to reconnect with nature. If you’re staying in the Isle of Palms, drop by the Eddie Kornhauser Recreational Reserve to leave the world behind and experience nature at its most tranquil. This park features concrete pathways that wind throughout the reserve. You’ll also find tidal pools where you can sit on the shore and marvel at the stillness of the water.

Go early in the morning for a quiet stroll, or bring/hire a bicycle to enjoy the smooth concrete paths. Feel free to bring a picnic blanket, a basket with all your favourite foods, and some drinks. You can stay here all day just reading a book or listening to music while sunbathing.

Visit the Tallebudgera Off Leash Agility Dog Island

Since you’re already in the area, check out the Tallebudgera Off Leash Agility Dog Island. There’s a dedicated agility area for dogs dotted with equipment to help them exercise. If you don’t have pets, feel free to stroll on the concrete paths and say ‘hello’ to some pups you might encounter. You can sit on the freshly mown grass or lounge under the trees in the area.

Shop your Christmas presents at The Pines Shopping Centre.

Staying in Elanora, QLD, but still need to do your Christmas shopping? Head to The Pines Shopping Centre for a stress-free shopping experience. It’s smaller than your typical city shopping centre but features various boutiques, entertainment stores, homewares, and more.

Are you famished after a day spent shopping? The Pines Shopping Centre has many fast food and casual dining restaurants, including Chirpy Chix Charcoal Chicken, Sushi Train, and Sandwich Chefs.

The Pines Shopping Centre is conveniently a few minutes from the Isle of Palms Resort. If you’re celebrating Christmas at our resort, you can easily buy barbecue supplies at the nearby supermarkets.

Kayak or paddleboard on the Tallebudgera Creek

Now that you have gifts for your spouse and kids, it’s time to relax and explore the peaceful waters of the Tallebudgera Creek. Hire a paddleboard or kayak from Action Outdoor Hire or Smoothwaters. Bring a picnic blanket or foldable chair and enjoy the rest of the day lounging on the sandy banks of the Tallebudgera Creek.

Do some yoga along the shore of Pine Lake or meditate by the beach

Isle of Palms Resort is one of the most unique holiday accommodations on the Gold Coast. When you stay here, you’ll get a good view of Pine Lake from our townhouse or villa and experience its tranquillity. We’re in Elanora, Gold Coast, but the famed shoreline of Palm Beach is just a few minutes’ drive away whenever you want to enjoy it.

At Isle of Palms Resort, the sound of the waves gently lapping on the lakeshore will welcome you. Brew coffee first thing in the morning and watch the sunlight glint off the lake’s blue waters. Bring your yoga mat on the grass and practice mindfulness for a few minutes to start your day in serenity.

If you’d rather watch the sunlight from the beach, drive east to Palm Beach instead. Sit on the sand or stroll from Lillson Beach to Tallebudgera Seawall for exercise.

Picnic along the bank of the Currumbin Creek

Discover calm before or after the holidays in the clean waters of Currumbin Creek, which is only a few minutes walk away from the Isle of Palms Resort. You can hire a paddleboard or a kayak to explore the creek upstream or downstream. Bring food or order takeaway if you plan to stay here all day.

Stroll along the Beree-Badalla Reserve boardwalk.

Were you worn out after paddling or kayaking on Currumbin Creek for most of the morning? Devote your time strolling along the boardwalk of the Beree-Badalla Reserve. Enjoy the afternoon looking at the crystal clear waters or checking out the mangroves protecting the coastline. Bring your fishing gear to catch something to eat come dinner time.

Attend a Christmas carol performance.

You’re right if you feel that Christmas is complete with listening to some classic carols. The good news is that different Gold Coast suburbs are hosting their Christmas Carols performances throughout December.

Main Beach will host its own Carols on the Broadwater on 18th December, while Surfers Paradise will also host its own Carols on the Beach on 17th December. All of these suburbs are a few minutes’ drive away from Elanora.

Enjoy a quiet breakfast at any Elanora cafe.

Elanora might be a tranquil suburb in the heart of the Gold Coast, but that doesn’t mean the food scene here is boring. If you’re up for some hearty breakfast or brunch, visit any Elanora cafes near Isle of Palms Resort. There are a lot of cafes in the nearby The Pines Shopping Centre, including Shingle Inn, Brumby’s, and Crema Espresso

Are you looking for more breakfast options? Drive north toward Tallebudgera Creek to Valley Espresso, Spoon and Bean Cafe, or Three Beans.

Drive to Palm Beach, Burleigh Heads, or Currumbin to spend a tranquil day at the beach.

What’s a Gold Coast holiday without visiting the beach even once? The excellent news is Palm Beach is only a stone’s throw away from Elanora, so you can get to the beach without driving for hours.

Want to visit neighbouring other beaches this Christmas? You can do that, too. Burleigh Heads, Tugun, Miami, and Mermaid Beach are all located near Elanora, so you’ll always have other options.
