BOWLZILLA Gold Coast

Are you a skater or want to be one? BOWLZILLA Gold Coast will gather all skaters on March 12 to celebrate the seventh unique skating event. BOWLZILLA Gold Coast is the future home of Australian skating. The event grows in size every year and creates more opportunities for local skaters.

This one-of-a-kind skateboard festival on the Gold Coast celebrates skateboarding and art and music. There will be art shows, clinics for learning to ride, workshops, music, parties, and food. At BOWLZILLA Gold Coast, everyone is guaranteed to have a good time. On March 12, come to K P McGrath Dr, Elanora and join in the fun!

Australian Beach Volleyball Tour Finals

25-27 March 2022 | Coolangatta Beach, Coolangatta

The Australian Beach Volleyball Tour is Australia’s premier elite domestic Beach Volleyball series. The tour draws the best athletes from Australia and accepts international wildcard entries.

The Beach Tour is limited to 16 teams, with the top eight (8) Australian teams (based on points) automatically gaining entry into the Main Draw. There are two International Wild Cards and two National Wild Cards available. A single-elimination qualifying Tournament is held for all other teams at each event, with four teams earning a spot in the Main Draw.

Don’t miss the Australian Beach Volleyball Tour Finals, held at Coolangatta Beach on March 25 to 27.

Australian Youth Beach Volleyball Championships

 28-31 March 2022 | Coolangatta Beach, Coolangatta

The Australian Youth Beach Volleyball Championships (AYBVC), formerly known as the Australian Junior Beach Volleyball Championships (AJBVC), is Australia’s premier beach volleyball competition for male and female junior athletes.

This year’s program has been redesigned to better prepare athletes for AYBVC 2022, and it includes seven training sessions and five QBVT tournaments between November 2021 and March 2022 and a tiered selection process. The 2022 AYBVC Tournament will be held in Coolangatta Beach from March 28 to March 31.

Australian Surf Life Saving Championships

2-10 April 2022 | Broadbeach SLSC, North Kirra SLSC & Kurrawa SLSC

Don’t miss out on any of the Gold Coast’s major surf sporting events. The 2022 Australian Surf Life Saving Championships, also known as the ‘Aussies,’ will be held in Broadbeach Surf Life Saving Club (SLSC), North Kirra SLSC, and Kurrawa SLSC. The annual nine-day event brings together members from Australia’s 314 Surf Clubs to compete in over 480 beach and ocean events.

Pho3nix Gold Coast Triathlon

3 April 2022 | Broadwater Parklands, Southport

The Pho3nix Gold Coast Triathlon – Luke Harrop Memorial has long been referred to as “the triathlon for triathletes.” So mark your calendar to ensure you don’t miss out on this race. It will take place on April 3 at the triathlon’s original venue, a fantastic course.

The next day is the Pho3nix Kids Gold Coast Triathlon, a FREE fun, participation-based non-competitive event. Each child will be given a t-shirt, a swimming cap, and a finisher’s medal.

Gold Coast Open 

Following a hugely successful event in 2021, Queensland’s biggest surfing event is set to return to Burleigh Heads on April 30. The Gold Coast Open is a three-day event that features the world’s best surfers from all over the world and local talent. There will be live music, skate clinics and demonstrations, and sunrise yoga sessions in addition to the surfing competitions.

Senior Nissan State Age Netball Championships

The 2022 Senior Nissan State Age Championships is another major Gold Coast event. Athletes will compete for their association at the highest representative level in Queensland in this state-wide competition. The event will bring together players, coaches, officials, umpires, and spectators at the Hinterland District Netball Association in Somerset Drive, Mudgeeraba.

Gold Coast Challenger Series

7-15 May 2022 | Snapper Rocks, Coolangatta

Snapper Rocks will host the Boost Mobile Gold Coast Pro presented by Rip Curl. It is the most famous right-hand sandy point break globally, and it is a favourite of the world’s best surfers.

The event is a seven-day competition held during the high-quality surf month of May, providing an excellent vantage point to watch the world’s top surfers compete. The event will kick off the Australian leg of the World Surf League Challenger Series. The Challenger Series will see surfers compete on the World Surf League Championship Tour in 2023.

Australian Gymnastics Championships

10-25 May 2022 | The Gold Coast Sports and Leisure Centre, Carrara

Top gymnasts from across the country will compete for the title of 2022 Australian Champion over two weeks. All six competitive gym sports will be on display throughout the 12-day competition. The Olympic disciplines of Men’s and Women’s Artistic, Rhythmic, and Trampoline Gymnastics will make their final preparations for Tokyo. At the same time, Acrobatic and Aerobic Gymnastics athletes will perform routines ahead of their World Championships.
